The event is held annually in Bristol, UK and it’s an absolutely amazing sight where hundreds of hot air balloons take to the skies of the city and put on night shows called “night glows”.
The hot air ballooning is a weather dependent events. It depends on low wind, clear skies and little or no rain. The balloons traditionally ascend at 6 AM and it’s completely worth getting up this early.
Throughout the event, there is a fun fayre and daily events which includes paragliding and other air-based events.
Alongside the amazing and unique sight of hot air balloons filling the skies, visitors can also expect a large number of trade and food stands, fairground rides and entertainment events.
During the Night Glow event, the balloons are set up at sunset and are inflated as if they are going to take off – but instead of being allowed to ascend, they are held down by the ground crew.
Previously, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta used to be held in the second week of September, but due to muddy visitors and bad weather, it has been moved in the start of August. However, cancelations are normal due to high winds mostly.
