Burgas will stage Bulgaria's first Eurovision Song Contest after DARA's 2026 win brought the contest to the country.

Eurovision 2027 dates and venue

The Eurovision Song Contest 2027 will bring its three televised live shows to Burgas, Bulgaria, on Tuesday 11 May, Thursday 13 May and Saturday 15 May. Arena Burgas is the confirmed venue. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) also says six ticketed Preview Shows will take place between Monday 10 and Saturday 15 May. The listed date range for this guide includes those previews and the live shows. The EBU's host-city announcement (opens in a new tab) has the confirmed dates and the latest event information.

Burgas will host the 71st edition and the first Eurovision Song Contest held in Bulgaria. Bulgaria earned the right to host after DARA won the 2026 contest in Vienna with “Bangaranga.” The EBU selected Burgas after assessing the proposed venue, local transport, accommodation and plans to connect the contest with the wider city. The result gives Eurovision a Black Sea setting and makes the host city part of the visitor experience, alongside the arena itself.

How the contest week works

The three live television shows are the First Semi-Final on Tuesday, the Second Semi-Final on Thursday and the Grand Final on Saturday. The EBU's current Burgas 2027 FAQ (opens in a new tab) says two Preview Shows will be ticketed ahead of each live show. The six additional performances fall within the 10 to 15 May event window. The EBU has not yet published show times, the running order or the full programme around the live broadcasts, so plan your stay around the dates you want to attend and check the official calendar again before booking transport.

The wider programme is still being assembled. The EBU has listed Eurovision Village, EuroClub, an Opening Ceremony, fan spaces, public viewings and other cultural events as items for future updates. It has not confirmed their locations, opening times or which activities will be free. Those details will affect how much time visitors need in Burgas, particularly if they hope to attend events outside Arena Burgas. Follow the official events page (opens in a new tab) for announcements rather than relying on old host-city schedules from another year.

Tickets and booking advice

As of 19 October 2026, Eurovision 2027 tickets are not on sale and prices, categories and sale dates have not been announced. The EBU says fans will need a free Eurofan account to take part in the ticket process. Register on Eurovision.com (opens in a new tab) and mark interest in Burgas 2027 to receive official updates. Use only the ticket channel the EBU announces; tickets offered by resellers before that announcement are not verified.

Some activities outside the arena may be open to the public, including free events, but the EBU has not said which ones or whether they will require registration. Do not arrange your trip on the assumption that a public viewing area or fan event will be available on a particular night. Check the live events and ticket pages as the programme develops. If you need step-free access or other accessibility services, wait for the EBU's event-specific seating and transport guidance before choosing a ticket; the organizer says those details are still in preparation.

Getting to Burgas and Arena Burgas

Burgas Airport is about 10 kilometres northeast of the city centre, and the EBU's travel guide (opens in a new tab) describes a regular bus connection into town. Burgas Airport lists public bus 15 to the central bus station and links to current urban and suburban timetables. Check the airport's current timetable (opens in a new tab) close to departure because schedules can change before May 2027.

The EBU says Burgas also has rail connections with Sofia and other points along the Black Sea coast, as well as international bus services. These are useful options to compare with flights, especially if you are already travelling in Bulgaria. For city buses, check the operator's current information rather than assuming a route or timetable will stay the same for Eurovision week.

The dedicated 2027 transport plan is not final. The EBU says it is coordinating an integrated system between airports, accommodation, the centre, Arena Burgas and the main event locations, but has not yet published journey times or spectator services. Do not assume that the airport bus or a normal city route will take you directly to the arena. Recheck the host-city travel page (opens in a new tab) when the event transport plan is released.

Where to stay and what to see

The EBU's accommodation page (opens in a new tab) says its hotel guidance for Eurovision is still forthcoming, and its FAQ advises fans not to make non-refundable arrangements for event details that have not been confirmed. You can compare places to stay in Burgas (opens in a new tab), but check cancellation terms and the location against the official transport plan before committing. The EBU has not yet named recommended hotel areas or published a link between specific accommodation zones and the arena.

For time between shows, Burgas offers a walk along the Sea Garden to the pier and waterfront. The EBU's travel guide highlights the Sea Garden's walking paths, the Old Town and Burgas Pier; the city's visitor guide (opens in a new tab) also describes the city's parks and coastline. Central Beach and the pier give visitors a view of Burgas's Black Sea setting, while the Sea Garden is a green route through the city. Check current opening and transport details before arranging a day trip beyond town, since show schedules and the wider Eurovision programme may change how much free time you have.
